Bayberry fruit grows from a small tree/evergreen shrub. Plants secrete waxes for themselves as a way to control evaporation and hydration. As a result of climatic conditions, many plants in tropical regions also store waxes in membrane layers in the cuticula as an additional protection against evaporation of water. Bayberry Fruit wax in styling and conditioning products help provide stability, enhancing viscosity and consistency, and forms a flexible, protective layer.with a light, soft, and buttery feel. Various parts of the plant are often used ; leaves, bark, stems, root, fruit berries. Traditionally used in teas, ointments and tonics as a natural antiseptic to treat sore throats, fevers, wounds, itchiness, dandruff and even hair loss. Contains astringent and antibacterial substances.
Pea Protein
Pea Protein: Rich in essential amino acids, hydrolyzed pea protein allows for tinier particles of proteins to bond to the hair, linking together to form a protective structure that prevents cuticle cracking and damage and boosts the hydration and moisture retention in each strand. Its protective nature also shields locks from heat damage from dryers and irons.
Provitamin B5
Provitamin B5: Also known as Panthenol: this active ingredient goes into the formulation of shampoos and conditioners to make hair shiny and supple. Panthenol is a humectant that improves hydration and may reduce itching and inflammation of the skin. It accelerates and improves the healing of epidermal wounds and is often used in sunburn treatment products. When Panthenol is applied topically, it penetrates the lower layers of the skin, is absorbed by skin cells and is converted to pantothenic acid (more commonly known as vitamin B5). It is this penetration that allows essential hydration.
