ORLY BREATHABLE You're On Sapphire

I've already posted a review to the Orly site but bought the polish here. I'm happy with hbbeautybar, but unhappy with the polish. I now understand that this nail polish is meant to be worn without a base or top coat, but when I first got it I applied it with Orly bonder. I hated it. It was too thick, clumpy, & streaky. I was going to add some thinner to it but first I went looking for reviews to see if I'd gotten a bad bottle. Then I understood that I didn't need the base coat, so I reapplied the polish to my bare nails. Brush strokes still showed & it didn't self-level. I waited 20 minutes before the second coat. I tried to apply it as thinly as possible but this polish is just thick. Attempting thin coats resulted in streaks & bare spots. After the second coat I liked it more but missed the gloss from a top coat. I didn't apply a top coat. Over two hours later I had to change my clothes. When I was finished I looked at my nails. The polish had crinkled & pulled away from the edges of my nails. In some places it had rubbed off. Orly is one of my favorite brands & I'm so disappointed! It dries matte even though it has pearl glitter in it. If you like thick, matte polishes & the easy one-step manicure appeals to you, you'll love this. As for me, it's a hassle to return it & I don't know how often I'll wear it. 3 stars only because the color is still pretty, if not as glowy as I wanted. I will continue to buy Orly because I love them, but no more of the breathable formula.
